TURQUOISE
General information
Turquoise is sky-blue, green-blue, or apple-green in color. The stone is translucent to opaque with a glassy to oily sheen. Because it is a rare stone, turquoise is often imitated by dyeing howlite or magnesite. Small turquoise particles, too small to process, are also ground and then compressed (or reconstructed) into a larger stone.
Effect
Turquoise is a powerful healing, purifying, and protective stone. It brings balance: turquoise can have a calming effect and provide inner peace, but can also be invigorating in cases of exhaustion. It has a positive effect on depression, mood swings, apathy, and panic attacks. Turquoise provides insight and shows that you are responsible for your own happiness, thus counteracting a victim attitude and self-destructive behavior. It promotes creativity in problem-solving, empathy, and (romantic) love. Turquoise protects against negative energy, radiation, external influences, and substances, has a purifying effect, and balances the chakras. Physically, the stone has analgesic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying properties. It supports the absorption of nutrients and has a positive effect on rheumatism, gout, the stomach, the eyes, the immune system, and viral infections.
Care
Do not clean turquoise with water. This can damage the stone. Turquoise can discolor under the influence of (bright) sunlight.
