Amethyst
General information
Amethyst is a lilac to dark purple, translucent stone with a glassy sheen. It belongs to the macrocrystalline quartz family. Green amethyst is formed by heating purple amethyst and is called prasiolite.
Effects
Amethyst has a protective and purifying effect. The stone promotes self-awareness and helps you be honest with yourself about behavior that can be harmful and not serve your highest self. For example, it helps you recognize and address addictions. Furthermore, the stone provides insight into emotional processes, allowing you to process certain (painful) experiences and change avoidant behavior in this area. Because of its cleansing properties, amethyst is also very suitable for purifying a space. Combined with rock crystal and rose quartz, it creates a harmonious atmosphere. Because it stimulates the upper chakras, it can enhance intuition, spiritual growth, and insights, especially for those at the beginning of their spiritual journey. Amethyst also has a cleansing effect on the body and has a positive influence on the nervous system, headaches and migraines, nightmares, and other sleep problems.
The quartz in amethyst quartz amplifies the amethyst's effect.
